Aerators for Sale (1)

United Rentals is the top choice for used aerators for sale. We can all use a break from time to time, and grass is no exception. Not only does aeration give your grass the oxygen, water and nutrient boost that it needs, but it also improves soil drainage, as standing water can choke your lawn. Check out our listings below for spike and plug aerators for sale. Our inventory has several different models of aerators including walk-behind, ride-on, standing, three-point tow-behind and others. Aerator machines are ideal for gardeners and landscapers, as well as for ground maintenance crews who tend to golf courses, sporting arenas, parks and more. We carry a wide selection of top brand aerators like Billy Goat, Classen, BlueBird and Toro, among others. Request Information on any of the listings below for additional details.

FAQs About Aerators for Sale

What are aerators and what do they do?

  • The aeration process creates holes in the soil to alleviate compaction and thatching so that water and nutrients can get to the grass’ roots. When grass is deprived of water, oxygen and other nutrients, it can struggle through stressful weather conditions, like extreme heat and drought, and lose its rich color.

What type of aerator is best (spark or plug)?

  • To decide which type of aerator to use on your lawn, you must first determine if you have mild or severe soil compaction. Typically, areas that are trampled by foot traffic or are traveled on by heavy machinery have compacted soil. Spike aeration is suitable for smaller lawns with mild compaction, while plug aeration is better for severely compacted lawns. See the listings below for available used core aerators for sale.

How deep does an aerator go?

  • Aeration holes are generally between 1 and 6 inches deep and 2 to 6 inches apart, depending on the make and model of the aerator.
